Use those extra carbs wisely
Good morning, %FIRSTNAME%.
A four-day weekend is a great chance to increase physical activity, even if you are away from home.
You don’t need me to tell you what kind of physical activity to do, but I will say that it’s a great time to try something new.
You can invest several hours into working on technique, or just relaxing and enjoying the ride.
The perfect outcome is that you will enjoy the exercise or feel good enough that you want to make it a priority when you get back into your normal routine.
If you’re already training, why not step it up?
Someone running 5km three times per week might set the goal of running a 10km or running three separate 5km at different locations and elevations (various types of decline are my favourite).
Maybe there’s a voice in your head that wants to start exercising more, but it’s also telling you that you really need the break (not just from work, from everything). You’ll start after Easter, when you’re refreshed.
The problem is you’re crazy if you think you’re going to start once you get back to work.
It’s just like hitting the snooze button for another ten minutes - you never wake up any more alert, just later.
The extra exercise isn’t to cancel out extra calories from Easter eggs - I’m comfortable with the fact you’ll be in an energy surplus this weekend (pending surplus size).
Instead, it’s the opportunity to try something different and integrate it into your regime. It’s a four-day training opportunity that you only get once a year - use it!
